  Hazeldean Road is a very nice store. However it is hit and miss on stock. First day of flyer specials and out of stock. And no I didn't have time to ask for a rain check.Staff is ok.Good at pointing , not taking you to what you are looking for.

  Yesterday morning, my boyfriend took beef we purchased couple of days ago out of fridge and he found the beef is totally spoiled. Evening, when I asked a cashier, whether I should return the beef since I may not have receipt. The cashier said yes, it should not be a big deal. When I brought the two packages back, and I talked to another cashier since the cashier I spoke with was busy. This cashier is so called manager. She told me she cannot refund without receipt because she couldn't know when I purchased it and whether from the same store. Furthermore she was saying I was insulting food basic since I said food are not fresh. When I insisted to get refund, she was quick to accuse me to put her in trouble.

  I never thought food basics could be so denial of returning spoiled food before best before date. I am very disappointed and upset after the argument with the cashier. It's really not about the money. Just felt not being treated respectfully.

  Beef spoiled before best before date, refused to refund, cashier was quite quick to blame on customer.

  Nice store but on Saturdays when you're leaving there always seems to be some group of people (with kids) either selling girl guide cookies or raffle tickets.

  I was here last night with my wife. I found several loaves of moldy bread expired 25 Sep as well as more without mold from the same date. The manager wasn't around so I reported this to a supervisor. She said she'd take care of it. Here today to get missed items. Looking at the bread and finding more moldy ones and more expired ones. There are deals to be had but look for mold on anything not in a can or box.
